Health & Safety Practices
The safety of our children and staff is our biggest priority.

As such we have implemented the following:

  • Pursuit Preschool & Elementary is a closed campus. Doors remain locked throughout our school day and all visitors are required to check in through the front security desk.

  • All staff and volunteers are screened and trained using a National background check system and the Ministry Safe Abuse Prevention Training curriculum.

  • Classrooms are equipped with live and recorded video feed cameras

  • Full time security staff that is trained and armed will be onsite during all school operating hours.
Behavior Guidance & Management

We take a positive approach in behavior management and guidance through communicated expectations, conversation, boundaries, modeling, mutual respect, and love. We guide, redirect, and offer praise and positive reinforcement. We take the time to get to know our students through their individual selves and their families to learn what they respond best to. Our goal is to give our students the tools to become successful in making healthy and safe choices for themselves and with those around them. Open communication with families is essential for success in positive behaviors.

Faith-Based Environment
Pursuit Preschool and Elementary is a faith-based learning environment that values the wholistic development of the individual. Classrooms are staffed with certificated teachers who are passionate about Christian education and espouse the principles outlined in Scripture. The goal for our students is that they would become deeply formed in mind, body, and spirit, being well-prepared to engage with the world around them.

Our classrooms are intentionally designed to encourage both traditional and non-traditional learners and create an environment where children are encouraged to discover, develop, and deploy their God Given gifts. Parents can expect weekly chapels, Bible classes, and worldview training to happen as a regular part of their students educational journey.
Volunteering
Parents are welcome and encouraged to volunteer. Prior to volunteering, all persons over the age of 16 must complete a full background check and participate in our Child Abuse Prevention Training offered in an online course through Ministry Safe.

All volunteers are required to check in at the front desk and wear a volunteer badge throughout the duration of their on-campus visit.
How Do You Accommodate Children With Special Needs?
The current state of public schools has made this choice an untenable option for many families. As private Christian schools serve our communities, very few have met the needs of children with disabilities in successful ways. Our vision is to serve ALL children and we are intentionally building an environment that includes and supports not only typically developing children but children with mild to moderate learning disabilities pr other diagnosis including Dyslexia, Autism, Down Syndrome, ADD/ADHD and more.

While we do not offer IEP or formal 504 plans, we will partner with families to target specific goals in an inclusive (not segregated) classroom setting.

We believe all children benefit from this diverse environment and we are honored to partner with families to create a private Christian option in spaces that have not previously existed.
